Akd from Wuppertal, Germany, began his musical career in the early nineties, laying guitar in a Heavy-Metal band. In 1998, he switched to Turntableism
and participated in various DMC and ITF competitions. Forming the urn2Burn-Crew with DJ Unkut, Toni Rocksta and Arnie 500 in 2003, Akd was
always known for his experimental approach. Hee combined turntables with ffect-boards and loop-pedals, rocking the stages with highly sophisticated
routines. Besides that, he did a lot of production work for local Rap artists and supported them live. Akd became internationally known when he joined forces with Pro-Zeiko, Unkut and Rob Bankz to form the turntable team Exodus, which came second in the 2007 DMC world finals.

But Akd's roots lie in experimental turntableism. A perfect display of his skills is the ' I know you like the way' -routine. The featuring of three turntables, midi-contoller and sequencer sets the mood for things to come. Because Akd is a revolutionary, always pushing the boundaries of production and Dj techniques. That was just proven again when he teamed up with Koljeticut to win the world title in the 2008 IDA show-category.

Akd is also founder of the Wizard Of Ahh scratch battle. It challenges the contenders with a new concept: one has to scratch over a beat, not knowing what kind of rhythm or tempo it's going to be. Taking place in Wuppertal in Summer 2009, it's the third year of this competion which attracts DJ's from all over Europe.
